Training Harvard Fellow & Hyrox Athlete Nkosi Muse | Raising The Bar Ep. 1
Episode 1: What's Your Game Day? — with Nkosi Muse
Nkosi Muse is always ready to fight for environmental justice. His regimented habits and systems became part of his DNA at a young age, watching his father prioritize fitness.
Today, Nkosi is a Harvard Environmental Fellow studying extreme heat and urban heat exposure, a former Division I track and field athlete, and a Hyrox competitor currently working his way back from a significant injury. In this session, we get into what it actually takes to operate at his level — physically, mentally, and emotionally — when the stakes of "game day" show up in a lab, a policy meeting, or a startline.
Raising the Bar is built on a simple idea: game day looks different depending on your profession, but the systems that get you there don't have to. Whether it's an athlete's competition, a lawyer's courtroom, or a founder's boardroom, the preparation underneath is more alike than most people assume — and that's exactly what this series is designed to show.
Each episode pairs a real training session with an unscripted conversation, featuring high-performing professionals whose work demands the same discipline, recovery, and mental readiness we build in the gym. This is coaching in practice, not theory — the same systems I use with my own clients, applied in real time with guests who are operating at the top of their fields.
